Old and Bold

The clip below is from a fight taped in the 60´s (yes?no?) very likely in Super-8 film. It starts as standard pro-wrestling in bikinis including old-fashioned masks and well known moves and holds.

But in the second part of the fight they keep only the masks and continue wrestling as before. What are the masks for here? Modesty?

If I am not mistaken, this is a Mildred Burke production.

  1. Yes you are most correct it's Mildred Burke Studios match video from the 70's, i know one of the wrestlers in the clip is Cheryl Day a very good pro wrestler and also an expert at applying the ceiling hold.
I would say the masks were a sexy erotic theme they decided to use during the match but all i know is it's a damn shame the Mildred Burke Studios aren't around today i think they were way ahead of their time going by what style and genre of womens wrestling they were producing back then, in fact the style and genre of wrestling they produced is the kind i love the most- Topless/Nude Barefoot Pro-Style Wrestling in a Ring with no ref to get in the way.

  2. Thanks, Pas, for the clarification. I also love their wrestling style and have plans to comment and post more material about them pretty soon.
