A Better Copy

I have just found a better copy of the classic catfight between Claudia Cardinale and Brigitte Bardot in the "The Legend of the Frenchie King" (1971) ("Les PĂ©troleuses" in the original) and have thought it would be fit for a lazy Sunday.

I have not seen many confrontations of this stature lately, where two renowned stars engage in a long brawl. I might be wrong, though, and certainly you can come up with counter examples.

I would love to see such scenes with Scarlett Johansson and Penélope Cruz, Julianne Moore and Halle Berry, etc..

  1. This has been a favorite fight of mine for years. It looks like the girls know how to fight, they remain feminine while doing it and you can see their facial expressions. Too many recent film fights are done by women that fight like men in badly lit conditions so that we can't see how much is being done by the stunt women. How stupid do they think we are?

Of more recent stars doing battle the only fight I can think of is in Bandidas (2006) which involved Penelope Cruz vs Salma Hayek. Not up to the standard of BB vs CC but still better than most.

  2. Thanks for that clip. I had forgotten how sexy Claudia Cardinale was back then! I think what is appealing about this is that they were both famous sex symbols, one blonde, the other brunette. Something primal about that.
